Geometric Canvas DIY

Hello lovelies 🙂

I know it has been weeks since I have last blogged and I am so sorry! My life is so chaotic right now with finals coming up and other projects I am working on. But I am back today with a really cute and fun DIY!! I have seen a few paintings that are VERY similar to this DIY in stores like Urban Outfitters, but they’re kind of pricey! This DIY costs around $6…. SUPER cheap!

The supplies you will need for this DIY are: a blank canvas, scissors, painting tape (any size, depending on how wide you want your geometric lines to be), acrylic paint (any colors), paint brushes, sponges (any sponge will work! I used a cleaning sponge from a dollar store)

First decide how you want your canvas to look. I free handed my canvas; I just took long pieces of tape and spread them randomly all over my canvas. Just remember, where you put the tape is where the canvas will be white!! You can look up designs on Pinterest or from an expensive paining already created and follow the way they do theirs. Honestly though, you can’t really go wrong with this part! It’s really up to you and how you want your canvas to look 🙂

After placing the tape, choose the colors you want your canvas to be. You can make this one color or you can do multi like I did! Pour the paint in a plastic bowl and use your sponge to dip into the paint. Because I used four different colors, I used four different sponges. You don’t have to do this, I’m just super lazy and didn’t want to have to rewash my sponge each time 😛 hehe. Dab the sponges all over the canvas. Don’t worry about getting it on the tape or staying in the lines because the tape just comes off anyway. You can do each section a different color or you can do what I did and make each section multi colored!

After painting it, take the tape off of the canvas carefully. You will now see a cute and geometric design! I absolutely LOVED this DIY. It was so much fun and so cheap! Seriously how cute is this?? Perfect for the spring and summer 🙂
